Best Kink/Fetish book nomination

teddy best kink 2018

We’re so honored Teddy is included among so many great books in the Goodreads M/M Romance group’s best of 2018 polls! Voting is now open, and goes through the end of the year.

In order to vote for this category, and all the others, you need to:

1. Be a member of Goodreads

2. Join the M/M Romance group

3. Vote! You can find a list of all the categories here. You can vote in all the categories, or just the ones that interest you. There are so many great books nominated, it’s a tough choice in some of the categories.

Teddy is nominated!

When I started reading M/M books years ago, my No. 1 source for finding new-to-me books to read was Goodreads. I relied heavily on the M/M Romance group, in particular the “best of” lists the group generated every year for its Members’ Choice Awards. I particularly loved how the list was broken down into categories, so if was in the mood for a BDSM book, I could go down that list and find something that caught my attention (which, let’s be honest, was all of them).

And now, the group is working on its nominees for the best books of 2018. I was thrilled to find out Teddy & His Bear has been nominated for Best Kink/Fetish book!!

You do need to be a Goodreads member and a member of the M/M Romance group in order to see the nominations and eventually vote — which I hope many people will do! Right now, the group is accepting nominations in all categories until Dec. 5, and then voting will start Dec. 8. If you browse through the current nominations and don’t see your favorite book from 2018 in a category, there is still time to nominate it. There’s also a great Q&A if none of this makes sense, haha. I’ll be posting about this again when voting starts, but in the meantime I’m just excited we’re part of this at all!

EDIT TO ADD: Just found out Teddy & His Bear is also up for Best M/M Romance of 2018 on this Goodreads list!

More excitement: Teddy & His Bear was reviewed last week over at Love Bytes, and it’s now up for Book of the Week! You can vote for it here (poll is at the bottom of the page), and for any of the other books nominated — there are some really good ones, and I had to add a couple to my TBR.

What’s next: Lila and I are hard at work on a project for a big giveaway for the new year. If you’re part of our Facebook group or follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a teaser or two. We’ll be revealing more about it soon!

Pretty in paperback

teddy paperback The first batch of Teddy & His Bear paperbacks I ordered (all twenty of them!) arrived yesterday, and I’m in love. As you may have seen elsewhere, simply because I mention it all the time, this is the first book I’ve had a hand in co-writing. I’ve worked on books before and do so currently, as an editor and proofreader and beta reader. But having my own words in print? As a book? So surreal! And since this is our first go at this, we weren’t sure what to expect quality-wise from Amazon’s printing process. I’m so happy to report the paperback looks great all the way through. Now I just need to figure out how to frame a book. 😉

One week after hitting publish

Lila Wilde and I published Teddy & His Bear, our debut novel, one week ago today! Since this is the first book for both us, we really didn’t know what to expect. We went into the writing process with this thought: let’s write a book we would want to read.

Apparently, other people wanted to read it too, because the response has been better than I ever could have anticipated. M/M romance is already a small niche market, and then we went and wrote a Daddy kink book, which we knew would not be everyone’s cup of tea. But then this happened, just last night:

It’s so surreal, and I am beyond grateful to so many people — the readers, of course, many of whom have reached out to say how much they enjoyed the book (thank you!!) and have left some fantastic reviews and shared our book with others; and so many authors who have given us advice, shared the news about our book release, let us do takeovers and giveaways in their Facebook groups, and more; and bloggers and reviewers who have featured Teddy.

I don’t know if I could ever adequately express how humbled I am by everything that has happened in the past week, or how thankful I am to everyone involved. I had hoped at least a couple people would check out our book and take a chance on new authors. I had never guessed it would go the way it has!

Teddy is coming!

My first book, Teddy & His Bear, co-written with Lila Wilde, will hit Amazon on Oct. 25. I can’t wait for everyone to meet Teddy, Barrett and the rest of the Oh My! crew. Here’s a little more about it:

At twenty-four, Teddy should be used to feeling abandoned and unwanted. After all, he’s been dealing with it most of his life. But a recent breakup takes him completely by surprise and now he’s on his own again. Nursing new and old hurts, he leans on his makeshift family and finds solace in a growing and unexpected friendship with an older man.

Forty-two-year-old Barrett has successfully ignored his biggest need for years. His last boy left him questioning everything he knew, and he is determined to lead a vanilla life, no matter how much his friends try to convince him to be true to himself. When he learns his favorite barista needs a new place to stay, he offers a solution that leads to spending more time with the younger man.

A change in circumstances brings both men together and their buried feelings to light. Teddy knows he’s attracted to Barrett but isn’t sure if he’s ready to risk his heart again, and Barrett is losing the struggle against his dominant nature. Will learning Barrett’s kinky secret be too much for Teddy, or is it just the thing he never knew he needed?

Teddy & His Bear is a 90K word slow-burn, May/December, Daddy kink MM romance featuring one hot Daddy, his sweet new boy, coffee, and unicorns.
